I took Drew's sister's senior pictures back in 2009 for her 2010 graduation. (she's the one who laid in the pink flowers^above)

Drew was a lot of fun, has a great personality and it was nice getting to meet his girlfriend Sara as well!

One of my favorites is the one on the railroad track. Normally shots on the tracks can be so cliche and boring, but we got in luck with a train coming in the background to make it unique! Tried a new location and found some new spots as well.

Rachel is one of the biggest Divas that you will ever meet. I don't have to tell her how to pose, or suggest what she should wear. She does it all on her own. Only four years old and this girl is already a natural in front of a camera! We did a mini session outside this week. I absolutely love the first one of her! We are going to get some more shots this week if the weather stays nice. :)

at the apple orchard ~ Part 1~

Friday was an apple-orchard kind of day. Warm fall weather, a nice breeze, and good friends!
It was kind of special because it was little Braden's first trip to the apple orchard. He loved it as you can see in these pictures that I got of him. Except of course, he kept wanting to eat the grass! His mommy had to keep pulling it away. We had such a fun day! Great memories.

Niccole & Scott - Noblesville Indiana Photography

Niccole called me on Friday. She'd recently gotten a job as an interior designer and needed some head shots for business cards and needed them fast! We planned the session for the very next day.

It was also her husband's birthday and their anniversary so we got some shots of them together as well.

They are such a beautiful couple, and I hope you enjoy the pictures of them!

Tweedledee and Tweedledum {personal}

It all started during a volleyball game. The two girls, about the same height, matching each other's strides decided they wanted to play. We let them, and they played side by side in the same position.

Everyone laughed.

"Look at the two of them!"

"Yeah, like one person!"

Immediately this image filled my mind.

Many of you remember them from Disney's Alice in Wonderland. Or those of you who didn't grow up with that version(Ahem) may know them as these two:

"Hey!" I yell. "You're the Tweedle Twins! Tweedledee and Tweedledum!"

.....and the nickname stuck.

They look nothing alike...but are best friends and so similar in ways that it can be scary.

We spent a great, fun-filled, crazy weekend at an State Park in Indiana. One day, while everyone else was taking a creek walk me and the Tweedles decided to take a photo hike....and do a little BFF session love.

Laughter. One of the most important things in a friendship. These two laugh more than anyone I know.

The Robin Hood BBC - These girls can quote entire episodes, name the season and episode number. Talk about dedication.

Both these girls are intense, avid, amazing photographers.

Gorgeous Leah

The Hunger Games Forest....We saw these huge black birds that reminded us of Mocking Jay's from the books. We went into stealth mode. OH YEAH. :)
Oh, needless to say, they are in LOVE with The Hunger Games.

The trails were so full of Autum-ey goodness.

Both these girls are Christians. They love the Lord with their whole hearts and the love of Christ shines through in their lives. Keep walking along the straight and narrow girls. Jesus will never fail you if you strive to glorify him in everything you say and do.

This big guy is the cutest thing ever. Of course I'm probably prejudiced since he's my cousin. :) Then again, how can you not resist this adorable little face, and chubby little legs? At 7 months this little dude is already an "einstein". :) He says words, crawls everywhere, and is almost walking.

We never got to do his newborn pictures but I'm so glad I got to take these of him!

I want to start out by saying that Annie is one of the most beautiful, sweet, funny girls I've ever met. She's this fun, energetic girl that knows how to have a good time doing anything she sets her mind to. I was visiting her family in Northern Michigan (see pictures from my visit last year) and Annie asked me to take her senior pictures while I was there. We decided that while visiting Charlevoix we would take her pictures downtown there. We had such a great time, it was so beautiful in Charlevoix and so many neat places to shoot! The W Family - Central Indiana Family Photographer

Back in February, I had a session give away. Anne won a session for her family by random drawing. They booked the session for May and we planned to do it at their favorite family spot - a local state park.

The W's are such a sweet family, and a great blessing to all who know them. :)

We went down a few of their favorite trails and they shared some stories with me about fun times spent at the park. The kids had fun climbing trees, racing through the woods and leaping over dirt mounds. It was truly a memorable session.

This is an adorable little guy named Gray. :) His mom had been planning on getting a session done since before he was born. Gray is 7 months old now and a cutie with some beautiful blue eyes!

I've got some blog catching up to do this week!! :)

While visiting my best friend in Holland, Michigan, her Aunt approached me and asked if I could do a photo session for her family while I was there. The Tulip Time festival was going on so we planned on going downtown the beautiful city of Holland. There were so many Tulips to use as natural backdrops not to mention the downtown area was a great place with an old theatre and plenty of other spots like that.
They were such a wonderful family and I enjoyed getting to spend time and capture them on camera!
I throughly loved the out-of-state session! I hope to do more in the future.....

Where do we begin to talk about Conner Prairie?

It's every kids dream. Go back in time and experience the year 1836. Real people portray school teachers, potters, store owners and simple everyday people. They dress in the clothing, wearing bonnets, dresses and top hats. The people are made up of volunteers, and they take their job very seriously. They do a fantastic job and you really feel as though you've stepped back into the year 1836.

I don't think the little girl sitting on the front bench of the school house will ever be convinced that Baseball was once called "Rounders". lol

If you ever come to Indiana, make sure you plan on stopping over at Conner Prairie!

Chelsie: Senior 2011 - Indiana Senior Photography

From the very first moment Chelsie contacted me, I knew it was going to be an awesome session.

She was so enthusiastic about her session that she had me excited about it. :)

She constantly had ideas and thoughts about the session which was awesome that she knew what she wanted. With all the rain we'd been having we were hoping we would have a nice day. We had a bad thunderstorm come through the night before and thought we'd have to cancel. When the next morning brought sunny skies and warm weather, I knew it would be a great day.

Jace - Central Indiana Senior Photography

With the nice weather we had last weekend, it was a great time for a session.

Sunday I photographed Jace, a senior.

We did some shots with his gorgeous dog first. They had a fantastic yard for pictures, there was just so much we could do. I loved the little creek that ran behind their house, it provided some great creative inspiration.

Jace also runs track in school, so we had to get some shots with his track shoes.

I can't claim to know how hard it is to have a camera in your face and some girl telling you how to stand or hold your hands, but you did a great job Jace, thanks for putting up with it all. :)

In the end, we had some great lighting, an awesome location and some great shots.

Luke - Central Indiana Senior Photography

With Spring rolling in, It's finally nice to get out and take some pictures. It's great to see the sky so bright and to feel the sun warm on my skin again! It's also lovely to be able to stand outside for more than five minutes to take a pictures without freezing off my fingers.
Spring sessions are starting up now and I recently did a senior session.
We had a beautiful March day for pictures. We met at one of my favorite locations and started shooting away. When Luke pulled out a beautiful red guitar I began seeing millions of photo opportunities with it! He slipped on a leather jacked too and It was perfect for the location. We also went over to the blue "Bridge of Character" in town and shot some pictures. It was a fun filled day even though the wind kept playing some practical jokes on us! Enjoy the pics. :)

Family - {personal}

{ I don't normally do many personal posts, but I really wanted to share this one. }

The love of a family is life's greatest blessing.

My family is some of my favorite people to be with in the world. No matter the age or relation to me, I always enjoy spending time with my siblings,cousins, aunts, uncle's, grandparents, and "greats" too.

Your family are the people who know your quirks and oddities and accept you all the more for it. Well, and a few laughs about it come too. :) You can laugh together, cry together, and hug just because. There are personal jokes and games that people outside your family would think completely odd.

Your family are the people who are always there for you. They can tell when your sad, excited about something, or in a downright bad mood.

Above anything else - your family are the people who will love you no matter what.

I love my family so much, imperfections and all.

Madeline - my sister who loves music. She plays piano and guitar, loves flowers, poetry, baking and vintage things.

Addi, my cousin, always seems to have a giant smile on her face. She loves bright colors, Converse shoes, laughing and wearing mismatched socks. :)

Monica, my cousin is actually pretty funny. We have so many personal jokes that we drive the family crazy with. She can tend to be a matchmaker so watch out to anyone who knows her. (lol)

My sister Madeline got this shot of me. Well, you all know who I am! I like this one though because it actually shows my happy, fun side. I'm so serious in most pictures that I really needed one with a big grin on my face because if you see me I'm normally laughing or smiling. :)

Here is senior session from last fall. I enjoyed getting to work with Zack; he was a lot of fun and pretty much up for anything!! I loved getting to use one of my favorite locations for his session - an old building near my house. He was a perfect model and so relaxed and natural in front of the camera for a guy! I'm hoping you all had a wonderful 2010! :)

I've been waiting for this day for a while because I was wanting to do a "365 Days" project this year. I attempted it last year and didn't last very long as it was quite challenging. I wanted to start all over again this year and try again. What is the 365 Project you ask? It is one picture, every single day. To me, the project should not just be any picture. What would the purpose of the project be if you didn't think about the shot? If you didn't really try? You would just be producing bad images and be disappointed in yourself and your photography. Last year, I just kept forgetting to take pictures, or just completely lost it creatively. This is why I want to do the project because it challenges me. You think it's too hard? Don't think you can do it? Than this is the project for you. It will challenge you to think outside the box. Instead of taking a picture of some random object, why don't you take a picture of something that really means something to you? I ask myself this same question.
If you decide to join me in the project yourself, comment and let me know. I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with!

I recently had the honor of photographing a simply beautiful little family. Each one of them were such fun to work with! Devin - Senior 2011: Central Indiana Senior Photography

Devin is my cousin. He is full of personality; I think you'll be able to see this just by looking at his picture!. We both agreed that he was born a model and that it's his true calling in life. (Just kidding of course!) I loved his hat, even though his mom thought it looked a little silly. Devin plays basketball, and wants to pursue radio after high school.
My personal favorite is the very first one. Okay, and the second one too. :)

Josiah - Senior 2011: Central Indiana Senior Photography

Josiah is a great guy. I've known Josiah's family for a pretty long time because he is really good friends with my cousin Devin. When both families wanted me to take their senior pictures, we decided to do it at the same time. Let me tell you, it was quite challenging to take pictures of two senior guys at one time. (ha ha!) They made it pretty easy on me though, and with both of them there together, they made each other a bit more relaxed for pictures. I know they hated being bossed around, cracking smiles and changing clothes for two hours but in the end it was quite fun. At least for me. Results below. :)

This is Kimberly.

She is one of the most talented, sweet, caring, beautiful people I know.

Recently she took up the challenge of teaching herself to play the violin - one of her favorite instruments out of many.

Not only does she love music, but she has a bit of "Country Girl" in her too. :) You got to have some boot love.

Senior Session ~ Central Indiana Photography

Here are some photos from a recent Senior session. This family drove over an hour to come get their son's senior pictures taken. It was a lot of fun and we did the session in the morning and had some gorgeous lighting! He was a bit nervous at first but towards the end he was having a blast with pictures and kept wanting to do more an more which helped a lot.

A Night of Worship With the Gettys

Our local christian Moody Radio station (97.9 FM) had a concert Sunday evening with the Gettys at a church in Indianapolis. The Gettys are from Ireland and are considered modern day hymn writers. I attended the concert and took some pictures along the way. They are amazingly talented people! Kristyn has an incredible voice, and Keith is an awesome pianist! Their band is also very talented; I don't think I've ever seen a violinist like the one in their band! They also have a man named Patrick(no kidding) from Ireland who plays the Irish Pipes. Their music is encouraging and exalting to God along with being very beautiful.

Traverse City, Michigan 2010

I had the opportunity to spend some time with some wonderful friends in Michigan this week. We had an amazing time together and I also had the chance to take some beautiful photographs! Thank you guys for having me; it was major fun spending time with you! Thanks for all the laughs, talks, and prayers. I plan on coming again and might even take a jaunt to Spring Arbor one day too. :) I love you all! :)

I wanted to share pictures from my trip so that I could show you all the beauty of Michigan. Sometimes we forget to stop and look around us, even at the simple, every day things such as a blade of grass or a sunset. Please enjoy these pictures!

Grand Traverse Pie Company ~ Best Pies EVER! We had a Peach Cherry with crumb topping. It was delish!

Downtown Traverse City there was an art gallery. There were some awesome pictures and paintings in there!

This is my family. I recently bought a self timer for the purpose of taking our family photos. Here is one of our favorites that I thought I would share. Also one that shows the craziness of my family!

On August 7, 2010 I shot my very first wedding. I could not have asked for a more perfect couple. Kerri was an amazing bride; she was so fun and easy to work with! They had such a laid back bridal party and gorgeous colors!

I asked one of my best friends (and she readily agreed! :D) to come help me shoot at the wedding. She was an incredible assistant, I don't think I could have asked for better! Thanks Kimberly! Asking her to assist me was quite a bit to place on her but she delivered in every aspect and above; I couldn't have done it without her! Elliot - Mini Session: Central Indiana Child Photographer

I had a "mini session" with my cousin's little boy at a family reunion.We wanted to do a full session but we never got the chance due to time. So while little Elliot was playing outside I did a mini photo session with him. He is so cute and fun and has such gorgeous blond curls! I absolutely enjoyed getting to shoot him for the few precious moments that I got. He doesn't live close so we don't get to see him much!

Chelsea was so bubbly and fun! She is absolutely gorgeous and such a natural in front of the camera! I loved all of her outfits, and her personality came through in each and everyone for the photos. Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't been posting my "Tasty Tuesday" lately! I've been really busy and haven't had time to spare.
One of my favorite things to eat/drink in the summer (or anytime in my opinion) is a Float. Some sort of ice cream with an ice cold carbonated beverage. I've always loved Root Beer Floats and it's a classic for sure; this year though I tried a new type that I absolutely love! It's Cherry Cordial ice cream with Pepsi Max (or wild cherry Pepsi) ! I love it. Today was super hot out, so I decided to do this for my Tasty Tuesday.

I used Low Sugar Cherry Cordial ice cream and Pepsi Max in this photo. I made sure that the glass was chilled and the beverage, then I poured it over the ice cream. YUM!

Family Day Trip 2010

Sorry everyone - I've been so busy, I haven't had time to do a Tasty Tuesday the past two weeks. I promise there will be one tomorrow though!
Instead, I am going to post some pictures from a Day trip that my family took a couple weeks ago. On a Tuesday my dad up and said "Lets take a little trip". We all packed up a cooler full of drinks in the van and left after lunch. It was a great day to go since my older brother was off work, and who knew if we would even get a chance to get to go again. This was sort of our "vacation" for the year. It was so much fun because it was spontaneous, relaxed, and we didn't have to worry about anything.


We started out in Wabash, Indiana and did a "River Walk".

My oldest brother works a lot so we don't get to actually travel and spend time as a whole family sometimes. It was awesome that he had the day off so he could come along! :)

My little Manny! :) He didn't want me taking his picture, but when he saw big brother was letting me he figured it was okay.

Butterflies were everywhere! I was happy to get at least one good shot!

We left Wabash and headed over to Salamonie Reservoir for a little swim.

The beach was practically empty which was really nice! I, however, forgot my swimsuit, so I just watched the younger kids play and took some pictures. It was such a beautiful day anyway!

Matthew kept running down the beach at lightning speed! He doesn't like the water very much so he spends most of his time on the beach building sand castles or attempting to get dry people wet.

Rachel cried when we left! She had so much fun! We didn't bring any beach toys, so I made her one out of a small container that we carried cookies in. She used that to build sandcastles and throw water on my jeans.

To end our perfect day, we took a drive over the dam on our way home. Such a beautiful view!

I had a family session this week with my Aunt, Uncle, and their three beautiful daughters. I had some new location spots that I wanted to try out so we went down to Falls Park. The park has so many different spots to go to, and despite the heat, we tried most of them. Thanks guys for being patient with me! :D

Ireland and Reagan's Tea Party: Central Indiana Child Photography

This week I had a session with my two beautiful cousins, Ireland and Reagan. My aunt showed me the cute matching dresses she got for them, and I thought about what type of props/location we needed. I decided to go with a "Picnic" theme in a garden area and was very glad we did! The girls loved the mini tea set and the wagon we used! I had such a blast working with the girls; they were troopers despite the heat, mosquitoes, and other bugs. ;)

Kitti and Dustan: Central Indiana Couples Photographer

Two years ago a friend and I had the pleasure of shooting some bridal photos for Kitti. This year, Kitti contacted me saying that she and her husband wanted to get some photos done. She suggested the Canal downtown Indianapolis; I was thrilled to do photos there and to meet up with her again! I had no trouble getting her husband, Dustan, to do anything; I think he would have jumped into the water if I'd said it would have made a good photo! It was so much fun; I had a blast with the two of them! Dustan liked a lot of un-posed candid shots. Kitti wanted some more formal portraits. I have a mixture of the both for you guys so I hope you love them!

I absolutely LOVED this shot! It was tough though because the wind kept blowing the water blocking my view and soaking Kitti!

Ah yes, nothing like a late night, last minute project! I had this idea in my mind all morning, and finally took a few photos. I wasn't too happy with the results, and wasn't feeling very inspired today, which made me feel really dissapointed. However, the coffee was delicious! My favorite picture of all of them was this first one.

Yes, I am well aware my mug is the size of a bowl. ha ha!

The coffee was "normal" coffee with Bavarian Creamer ( made here in Anderson at our very own Nestle!) A dollop of toffee ice cream, and sprinkled generously with cinnamon. Sorry I couldn't find something more inviting! This turned into quite a melted mess. :D

I hope you all had a wonderful Independence Day!
Our neighbors put on a killer fireworks display this year. They went all out. This made the kids happy, not to mention me, since I have never mastered the art of photographing fireworks. I think I might have mastered it this year. Hand held, straight out of the camera shots. Nothing great, but hey, I love them.
